A scoping review analyzed 10 studies on Generative AI and agency in education, revealing themes of control, engagement, and changing agency notions. The findings suggest GenAI may enhance learner agency but also risks exacerbating educational inequalities. This review highlights gaps in current research on GenAI's impact on agency.
